Our Story

Hello there! So happy you are here to share my passion for quilting and fabric! My name is Yvette, and this shop was born out of a desire to bring my love of all things fabric to life! I am a relatively new quilter but have had a passion for quilts since I was a youth when I received my first red patchwork quilt. I promised myself that "one day" I would learn to quilt and in 2018 that day finally arrived. Since then I have been making quilts, building my "stash" and learning new techniques. I have been blessed to become a member of a quilting group and guild of ladies who are so welcoming and generous with their time and talents - I want that for everyone!

Where did the name "Second Spring" come from? The Asian culture refers to a woman's midlife transition as her "second spring". It is explained that the second half of a woman's life is a blossoming of her feminine potential. Having recently retired from a 20+ year corporate job, I feel that is exactly the journey I am on. It is a rebirth and a second chance at living a joyful life with passion.

My goal is to bring a portion of that joy to each and every person that enters the Second Spring Quilt Shop, online or in person.
